Pears and Grapes -- Acrylic Still Life

This is one I did last year. I wanted to practice doing the fruit, texture, light, shadow, and depth of a still life. The inspiration  for it was a picture hanging on my kitchen wall. Parts could be better (as always), but I had fun learning from it.

  1. Ramona,

You've really done a great job capturing the soft light and the color is wonderful too.

  2. This is awesome Ramona! :) I've never done anything in acrylic before and this really makes me want to try it. But I need to stop getting distracted by all these interesting media and focus more on what I am capable of doing. There's never enough polishing in skills ^^ Thank you so much for your compliments.

  3. I so love the almost rustic...Tuscany?...feel to this piece Ramona. It really is a lovely job and would look fabulous in a rustic kitchen!

  4. A very nice painting, I like your choice of composition and colors, very subtle.
The rose is also very good, a lot of depth. It is nice that you mention also the medium you are working with, something as often forget to mention. Thank you for your nice comment.

  5. Nicely done. You caught the textures; the smoothness of the fruit and the muted light. Very nice!
