First Journal Page

I have wanted to have a journal for a while and just now have started it. The picture is of the moon and the stars. This is a memory that I recorded of when I was in Arizona in 2007. The inset says- "Moon & Stars. The Heavens Declare The Glory of God Psalm 19:1. The above quote came to me in 2007 after seeing the extreme number of stars in the Arizona night sky (which are not visible at home). I never knew there were so many. I was actually in shock for the first few minutes." This was done in acrylic paint on the paper in a composition notebook. Was fun to do.

  1. Hi. I'm from A.R.T., EDM and Blissfully Art Journaling. I like your page a lot. I felt the same way when I saw the Arizona sky (which is where I live now). It wasn't like this even in Wyoming which is at a higher altitude and has less lights to interfere with the night sky. I swear there is an ozone hole over Arizona and that's why the sun is so bad here and the stars shine so nicely.

  3. Actually, there were far more stars to be seen in the sky where I used to live in the Colorado mountains than there are here in Phoenix where I now live.

But for a first page, this is wonderful!

  5. I totally agree with Leanne - fabulous. In Spain I see alot more stars than here in Dubai (UAE0 but I think not as many as you've seen in Arizona!

  6. What a lovely page to record your memory. We see very few stars here - as in so many places, there is too much light pollution. There is not much that is more moving than to see the sky full of stars - puts things in perspective!

  8. Delightful...I can't believe that's a composition notebook! That is certainly cheap enough that even I could loosen up!

    Well done!
