Victorian Crackle Window -- Watercolor Journal
I love drawing architecture ( especially Victorian) and these windows caught my attention. It wasn't until I was well into the picture that I realized that there were letters on the window. Took a while to figure out they were A & O = Alpha & Omega. I call them crackle windows because that is what they look like until you get close and find they are really stain glass windows with very small pieces of glass very randomly put together. This was painted using watercolor pencils.

Very pretty Ramona. You are going to have a great collection of windows. I love seeing people's collections of doors and windows. Really any theme is fun to watch develop but windows, doors, kids and pets seem to really top the lists.
ReplyDeleteLight and shadow on the blue glass is great! Keep going, you've got a wonderful theme!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, and the shape and form of the windows are beautiful. I am starting to appreciate architectures around me, especially churches ^^ In fact, I've not been appreciating the ones I am surrounded with here in Cologne.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!!! Shadows and colors are very nice! Great jo, Ramona!
ReplyDeleteOops...I meant "Great joB".
ReplyDeletepretty window! love the colors and crackle effect.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty window!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Ramona! Love your church windows. I sketched the huge beautiful windows of a church when I was young while sitting in the pews listening to a concert. They were so magnificent, I had to draw them. And then I always dreamed of painting them some day to honour their magnificence. I tried when I first started painting, but wasn't happy with my efforts. You have encouraged me to try them again in mixed media. Leanne.
