Victorian House -- Pen & Ink
Did this one in pencil a few months back, but could not decide what I wanted to do with it. I ran across it the other day, and decided to do it in ink (Sharpie). A few lines suffered from my freehand tracing. I had fun playing with the shading and shadows. I love Victorian architecture. The homes are usually so elegant. The inspiration for this came from a picture in a book.

Ramona,
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I've always wanted to learn to draw with pen and ink - I actually went so far as to buy the supplies but haven't tried them yet. This is beautiful work.

Good Job Ramona! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing Ramona. If you want to play with color try scanning it in and then printing it out. Then you don't change your original drawing but can play with different kinds of color on it.
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice, Ramona. Pen and ink has it's own personality and you did wonders with this one.
ReplyDeleteWELL DONE!! I love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is really good! Brings to my mind an illustration for a classic children's story. It makes me want to go in and see what lies inside those windows! I wonder what stories they could tell...
ReplyDeleteVery precise!
ReplyDeleteThe boldness of the Sharpie matches well with your subject. I think it is a strong forceful drawing that captures the character of the subject. Well done!
ReplyDeleteArchitecture forces us to discipline ourselves in precise ways. Pen and ink bolden our pencil lines, no smudging allowed. You've done a really good job here with Victorian lines and p&i shading techniques. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteHi Ramona, nice pen and ink drawing! I don't know that I have the discipline to create an architectural drawing but pen & ink are my current favorite tools. And thank you for your nice welcome to EDM!
ReplyDeleteNever thought about using a sharpie! I like the effect. I use the Pit Artist pens.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, especially like the crackle window and the Victorian house. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou've made this house so three dimensional with your shading in ink! Bravo for you for working in ink.
